Looking Back

Bowie was the second concert young lady squeeze had the pleasure to wear a church dress too. That tour as of course the "Let's Dance" tour of 1983. I can still feel the total rush of emotions that ran through my whole body when the beats started pulsating and the lights started blinking and out stepped the Thin White Duke. my little legs started moving to the beat but that's alll that really moved cuz I was so embarrassed to actually dance like I had practiced in my mirror sooo sooo many nights leading up to the conchairto.

The moment my mom told my older brother that she got 3 tickets from her job for the Bowie concert and that he had no damn choice (her words)but to take me with him and his friend, young lady squeeze started plotting her outfit. Being that this was only the second concert I had ever been to (the first being Prince's Purple Rain tour, accompanied my my mom who wore a homemade one shouldered zebra stripped jumpsuit and it was totally embarrassing. Anyway, the point of the story is that I wore a damn church dress to see David Bowie. How I wish I could turn back time....if I could find a way.

This video Ashes to Ashes came out in 1980 and to me is one of the more interesting videos that Bowie put out.
