Bitch is as Bitch Does

So I painted this on Friday and I'm a tad bit aggravated cuz since I'm a relatively new "artist" I never know what materials or paint brushes to use. i just go and buy anything that's on clearance and go to town. I use a lot of stencils and stuff on my projects and to adhere them to the canvas I use

the only issue i seem to be facing is that if I apply the stuff with my fingers i get no brush stroke impressions and If i use a brush I get the annoying impressions.
When I painted my Bitch painting above, I went over the whole painting with my turkey baster brush ( OK I know it sounds crazy but it was the biggest brush I had) and it left stroke impressions. So annoying.
